October-ganza 3: The ‘Ganzaning
Leave a commentOctober 1, 2016 by Bret Kramer (aka WinstonP)
The turning of the season means that we have again entered that dreaded time of year know around these parts as October-ganza. This marks our third-annual voyage into the outré realm of daily postings here on the Sentinel Hill Press blog. If you would like to see what we’ve covered in our two previous forays into the ‘Ganza-esque, have a look – October-ganza 2014 and October-ganza 2015.
This year we will, hopefully, explore a fun variety of topics close to the withered black heart of Sentinel Hill Press and our loyal readers – New England’s occult history, weird folklore, eerie tales, and other oddities, as well as Sentinel Hill Press news, product previews, and some fun new material for the Lovecraft County setting.
Sentinel Hill Press news
First off, we’ve been a little otherwise engaged at Sentinel Hill Press HQ of late, with the homunculoid arriving more than a week early, throwing off work on the Arkham Gazette #1 and #4 as well as, of course, this year’s October-ganza. I have been generating a good number of posts in advance of this year’s ‘ganza, but depending on when he eventually accepts an approximately human sleep schedule, some day the posts might be a little late. I’m hoping to stay at least a day ahead. Fingers crossed, eh?
The revisions for Arkham Gazette #1 are effectively done – I’m working on proof-reading corrections, working with our cartographer, dealing with questions of layout, etc. We’ve increased the length of the issue by nearby 50%, clocking in at 42,000 words over 60 pages. I hope to have an idea of when it will be available soon.
Arkham Gazette #4 is still in development, but at a slower pace than I would have liked. I am still optimistic it will be out by the end of the year.
We have some other projects in the works which I will post some information about as the month progresses.
And now a word from Vincent Price…
