Coming Soon – Miskatonic Country Scenarios: A Keeper’s Guide
4July 17, 2020 by Bret Kramer (aka WinstonP)

Sentinel Hill Press is excited to announce an upcoming release – Miskatonic Country Scenarios: A Keeper’s Guide, a resource book for Call of Cthulhu game masters
This book is a guide to every Miskatonic Country scenario for the Call of Cthulhu role-playing game published in a book by Chaosium or one of its licensees (and set in the ‘Classic’ 1920s era). We go from 1983’s “Gate to the Past” to 2020’s “When This Lousy War is Over”.
Each scenario entries includes:
- Place of publication(s) and publisher (and a note if it is currently available).
- Author(s)
- Setting(s) (i.e. Arkham, Kingsport, Innsmouth, etc.)
- Locations visited (those listed in the various guides, i.e. Innsmouth’s Gilman House Hotel [I703] or Bee’s Diner in Arkham [A210])
- Entities encountered
- Tomes potentially discovered
- Notes for the Keeper – Is there a helpful map in the scenario? Was the scenario inspired by a particular story? Is the scenario particularly deadly?
Also included in the guide are concordances for the scenario information noted in individual entries, covering locations, entities, and tomes. Finally there is an overview of the main published works about Miskatonic Country (including recommending fiction to read for each major town) and a complete bibliography of all the RPG books covered in this guide.

This book was written by Bret Kramer, with help from Dean Engelhardt, Graham Donald, and Tyler Hudak. Our cover and interior art is by Galen Pejeau; layout by Dean Engelhardt. The book will be available as a PDF from DriveThruRPG for (initially) $5.
Later in the year will release an expanded “phase 2” of the book, which will expand to cover scenarios published in magazines, with at least one more follow-on phase where we will add in scenarios from Chaosium’s MULA publications and the Miskatonic Repository. Phase 2 will also include several suggested campaigns, built using already published scenarios. A print on demand version is anticipated once all 3 phases are complete. Annual updates are a possibility. Anyone buying the PDF will get a free copy of any subsequently released phases.
The book is in final drafting (I still am writing the introduction and back cover blurb) and is anticipated to go into proof-reading shortly. Release is planned for August.
Great idea, folks. Well done.
What has happened to the Arkham Gazette 4 release?
It is still coming but has been delayed, for now, by some layout and art issues.
